ICU Sets Wichita State Volleyball Up For the Kill:
Wichita - August 2009. WSU coming
off of a near perfect season was ready to fine tune their seemingly
flawless matches. The coaches wanted to capture steaming video from all
angles of the court and review the footage with players to help them
maximize their abilities.
ICU installed four network cameras, with angles
from both sides of the court, over the net, and a net mounted camera. The
cameras removed their old tripod mounted handheld video recorder, while
also gaining multiple angles to review their players with. All the cameras
run at 30fps allowing smooth motion viewing of the action at hand. Our
software package allows for a quad view for easy access to the entire
team's stream or they can switch over to the event viewer to review a
single players practice.
The coaches of the WSU Volleyball Team were amazed
at the quality of the new camera equipment and the ability to view their
cameras from anywhere on campus. Head coach Chris Lamb said he couldn't
wait for assistant coach RJ Abella to send him home with his video
homework. Being one of the first programs in the nation to have a video
system, they hope to utilize it in their recruitment of quality players.
